DUST SUPPRESSION
We’ve developed a system that uses mineral oil as an agent for dust suppression. This dust suppression system can reduce the dispersion of dust particles during grain processing and storage operations.
Before diving into the specifics lets breakdown the risks and potential problems with dust that occurs in the grain ship-loaders and in grain handling facilities in general.
There is a wide range of problems and challenges that need to be addressed:
- Health hazards: dust can contain allergens, mold spores, and fine particulate matter.
- Fire and explosion risk: grain dust is combustible, and can lead to fires and explosions.
- Premature wear and tear: dust particles are abrasive and can cause faster deterioration of machinery.
- Operational inefficiencies: dust accumulation leads to operational inefficiencies.
- Product contamination: contaminants, impurities, and molds degrade the quality of the grain.
- Environmental impact: dust emissions cause environmental consequences on local wildlife and communities.
The dust suppression system is a complete solution which follows the specific process:
- Identification of dust generation points - key areas within the handling facility where the dust is generated (conveyor belts, chutes, loading, unloading areas)
- Fire and explosion risk: grain dust is combustible, and can lead to fires and explosions.
- System supply on a turnkey basis
- Personnel training
HOW IT WORKS?
The mineral oil application involves strategically placed spray nozzles or misting systems that automatically bind dust particles, reducing their airborne dispersion
Control and monitoring systems manage the frequency and intensity of mineral oil spray based on dust levels and operational needs
Routine maintenance, including cleaning nozzles and refilling the mineral oil reservoir, is crucial for system effectiveness
